HAPPY SHIMSHON DAY!
by ChabadTube.com Staff Writer
The secular calendar declares today (Thursday) Valentines Day. A day many show extra affection to their special someone. But what should be written on your calendar is "Shimshon Day!"
For many years Shimshon Stock OB"M had the tradition to send out Valentines Day cards to widows, older singles and, OK, those that he "liked." While at first glance this may sound oxymoronic for a married, Chassidic man, to have such a ritual - that was Shimshon. He would get his "girlfriends" and wife to help him write and send out dozens of cards. Yes, his wife! Shimshon and Martha demonstrated the true meaning of Sholom Bayis. Their bond was so strong that no deed or joke could cause a scratch in their relationship.

For Shimshon, 'Valentines Day' was just another excuse to make someone feel not forgotten and a little happier. But with him gone, I was wondering who would fill that void. Who will bring that extra light into a dark day?
Someone did. I'm not sure who. There was no return address. But whoever you are - thank you!
I was in tears when I opened the card that declared February 14 - Shimshon Day. The card read "Love is Forever... Happy Shimshon Day." I couldn't have put it any better!
Yes, jot down on your recurring calendars - SHIMSHON DAY.
Let us not cry or feel sad about his absence, but take this opportunity to live Shimshon. Brighten those around you - for no reason at all. Show some love. Happy Shimshon Day!
